Fern Court receives presentation from LCDL - Tuesday 21 August 2007
Representatives from Lancashire County Developments Ltd presented John and I with two plaques for the funding support received from the Rural Lancashire Development Grant and the Lancashire Rural Recovery Action Plan supported by the Northwest Regional Development Agency.
County Councillor Niki Penney, Chair of LCDL, visited the business complex and said: ‘’I am delighted to see the fantastic provision for small businesses to operate out of Fern Court. We are keen to support opportunities for would-be entrepreneurs to realise their ambitions and to hopefully go on to run successful and thriving businesses that contribute to the Lancashire economy.’’
We had the opportunity to express our ethos for Fern Court:
- to provide a unique opportunity to work in a central location with all the latest technology, allowing the development of start-up businesses ensuring their success and future viability.
- access to a unique opportunity for collaborative marketing and sharing of best practice.
- to encourage economic growth and sustainability of professional services within the heart of rural Lancashire.
In our comprehensive application to access the funding schemes available we received the benefit of the professional assistance of Julie Whalley of Lancashire Rural Futures based in Clitheroe – grants were received via The Rural Lancashire Development Grant Programme which is a funding scheme from the Lancashire Rural Recovery Action Plan and LCDL, the managing agents.
The Lancashire Rural Recovery Action Plan is a five-year funding programme to aid the regeneration and sustainable development of the rural economy across Lancashire. Funding has been secured from the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) until March 2008 for a range of regeneration projects across the county.
